Ken Nnamani: Akpabio remains valuable asset for promoting good governance in Nigeria
Senator Godswill Akpabio, Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, has been described as a key asset in the development of good government.
The former Senate President, Ken Nnamani made this submission during a courtesy visit to the Minister in his office in Abuja
“My brother, the Minister, is a significant asset for the development of good governance,” the former federal lawmaker said, adding that “his strides in office as a Commissioner, Governor, Senate Minority Leader, and now a Minister have contributed value to the ideals of democracy.
“His public service, demonstration of integrity is the best Nigeria can think of,” he continued, “and I pledge my support for all his undertakings as a Minister, all his efforts to maintain peace in the Niger Delta Region, and the reshaping of the governance structure of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC),” Mr. Ken Nnamani observed.
In his response, the Minister recalled the contributions Senator Ken Nnamani to Akwa Ibom State’s Uncommon Transformation while he (Akpabio) was governor, saying, “My state benefited from the will power of your office as the Senate President, when you dropped the gavel in the hallowed Red Chambers. You were instrumental in the commencement of Uncommon Transformation of my state under my leadership.
“Through the dropping of the Gavel, you brought about a shift in the perception of an Akwa Ibom child, their educational status, the infrastructural development of the entire state, and the living standard of our people changed for good,” the former governor of Akwa Ibom State told Senator Ken Nnamani
He went on to say that the former chairman of the National Assembly is a politician that both Nigerians and non-Nigerians hold in high regard.
“Your Excellency, you are one Nigerian that people all over the world hold in very high esteem and you may not know it.
“You have been able to have sons and daughters all over the country because of your openness and integrity. You are an embodiment of a Nigerian that people all over the world hold in very high regard and you may not know it”
“This formal presentation of the book Standing Strong personally by you in my office, is an honour I will not take for granted. The title of the book speaks volume. It tells that we still have people standing strong in the face of challenges, while maintaining our ethics and morality. This book will inspire the next generation on how to stand strong as men of morality and integrity,” Senator Godswill Akpabio stressed.
