Thank-You Visit: Essien Udim Council boss pledges support to Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda

Essien Udim Council Chairman, Mr Anthony Luke has pledged unalloyed support to Governor Umo Eno’s administration and his ARISE Agenda to succeed for the benefit of the people.
The Chairman stated this in his opening remarks during Governor Umo Eno’s Thank-You visit to Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District which took place at Sir Michael Afangideh’s country home, Ikot Umo Essien in Essien Udim LGA on Wednesday, 12 July 2023.
He lauded the governor for remembering the language of gratitude stressing that “gratitude gladdens the heart of God”
The Council boss who was accompanied by his wife, Mrs Umo Gabriel Tonyudoh commended the Governor’s ARISE Agenda and “Season of Happiness” which centered on agricultural revolution, rural development, infrastructural maintenance/ advancement, security management and educational advancement and aims at improving the people’s life maintained that Essien Udim will remain a “reliable partner” in the project.
In his words, “You will never regret partnering with Essien Udim because we have integrity and you can count on us to support you and ARISE Agenda to succeed to bring good life and happiness to our people. We have already resolved to support a governor from Uyo Senatorial District for 8 years to reciprocate the support they gave Essien Udim son, Sen. Godswill Akpabio when he was Governor for 8 years. We will ensure your administration succeeds and hand over to Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District.”
Luke tasked the governor to follow in the footsteps of his predecessors in maintaining peace and security in the state for posterity.
Governor Umo Eno while addressing the stakeholders said the visit was to thank the people of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District for their prayers and support during the March 28 Governorship election by voting for him to win as governor of Akwa Ibom state noting that the victory at the poll would not have been possible without their prayer and support across political parties.
“Thank you Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District for allowing God to use you to make me the governor of Akwa Ibom State and also put us in office to manage affairs of the state,” Governor Umo Eno remarked.
The governor reassured that he will continue to appreciate the people through projects. He maintained that his administration will ensure that life-touching projects are evenly distributed across every LGA in the state and solicited the continuous support of the people for the success of his ARISE Agenda for the good of the people.
Eno noted that he has compiled all the campaign promises to all the local governments and will follow them up and begins implementations immediately Commissioners are appointed and sworn in.
He said that he would love to tour all the LGAs to thank the people but he chose to go round Senatorial Districts to save time for governance and commended Chief Michael Afangideh for always hosting him and supporting him with prayers.
In his remarks, the immediate past deputy governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Moses Ekpo, thanked the governor for the visit and for the honor done Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District.
He described the Senatorial District as a strategic partner in Akwa Ibom project while noting that the people will ensure that the governor has a peaceful and conducive atmosphere to deliver good governance for their interest and posterity.
Similarly, the political leader of Essien Udim, Akparawa Sir Michael Afangideh lauded Governor Umo Eno’s humble disposition and prayed to God to honour and guide him with wisdom to be able to govern the state while pledging the support and loyalty of his people to the governor’s administration.
The political leader of the zone, Sen. Emmanuel Ibokessien, said the people are grateful to the governor for the visit and commended Governor’s integrity and for being a man of his word adding that he is optimistic that his administration will live up to the expectations of the people and charged him to fulfill all his campaigns promises to the people.
While setting the tone for the visit, the political leader of Uyo Senatorial District, Sen Effiong Bob said the visit was to thank the people of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District for their support during the election in fulfillment of Governor Umo Eno’s promise to return in thanksgiving if he succeeds at the poll.
