Federal Poly Ukana: Royal father reaffirms commitment to collaborate with institution
The Clan Head of Ukana West, the host community of the Federal Polytechnic Ukana has restated his commitment and that of the host community to ensuring that Federal Polytechnic, Ukana enjoys a peaceful and cordial relationship with community members.
The Clan Head of Ukana West, His Highness, Okuku Silvanus Obot Udoekanem, who also double as the Chairman of Ukana West Traditional Rulers Council, stated this when he received in audience the Federal Government’s Visitation Panel to the Polytechnic led by Porf. Ahmed Tijani Abdullahi at the Annex campus of the polytechnic.
The Royal father thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for setting up the Visitation Panel to the Polytechnic.
He appreciated the Panel members for their commitment and zeal to add value to the new institution.
He lauded the effort of the Rector for his pragmatic leadership style and his hunger for transformation which has birthed many accomplishments in the Polytechnic.
Okuku Udoekanem further stated that Indigenes of Ukana as well as the Ukana West Traditional Rulers are impressed with the level of development that has been recorded in a very short time since the inception of Dr Uduak S. Ukekpe as Rector and pledged readiness to cooperate with the institution to attain greater heights .
The Royal father told the panel that the community enjoys a very robust relationship with the Polytechnic.
The Federal Government Visitation Panel Chairman Prof Ahmed T Abdullahi was full of praises for the Clan Head for making himself available to receive the Panel despite the short notice and his busy schedules and appointments.
Prof. Abdullahi said the visit was necessary to assess the performance of the Polytechnic since her establishment in 2014, the challenges and areas of needs with a view to repositioning it.
He solicited for more support and cooperation from the host community in order to ensure the smooth running of the Polytechnic and academic activities.
Speaking, the Rector Dr. Uduak S. Ukekpe thanked the Clan Head for his cooperation so far and fatherly blessings which he showered on him on his last visit to the Polytechnic.
He pledges never to disappoint the host Community but assured him that the Community will always be carried along in the affairs of the Polytechnic.
