Akase receives rousing welcome at Benue Zone C decamping ceremony
A leading governorship aspirant on the Peoples Democratic Party platform in Benue State, Mr Terver Akase Tuesday (December 14) stormed Otukpo venue of the Benue South Senatorial district PDP mega decamping ceremony, amidst fanfare from cheering supporters.
The Idoma Youths for Akase and other supporters who chanted songs of solidarity, ushered the guber aspirant triumphantly into the arena, where teeming members from the APC, APGA, SDP and other political parties, defected to the PDP led by a serving State Assembly Member representing Otukpo/Akpa Constituency, Rt Hon Baba Odeh and a business mogul, Hon Alex Enokela Ogbe popularly known as Ochacho Jr.
Speaking to press members, Mr Akase lauded the people of Benue South Senatorial district for always keeping faith with the PDP, saying Zone C is a force to reckon with in the political landscape of the State and beyond which must remain in mainstream politics.
He hinted that the Benue South Senatorial district will have a crucial role to play for him to emerge as the party’s gubernatorial flag bearer, as he seeks to govern the State come 2023, pointing out that as one united Benue, he will carry every part of the State along if given the peoples mandate.
While reiterating his total commitment to operate an inclusive and people-oriented governance, Mr Akase sued for support from the people of Benue South, stating that it is only through the people’s collective will that the task of building on the succeses of the past and present administrations to enthrone development in the State will be successfully achieved.
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, PDP National Chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu, former Senate President, Senator David Mark and State PDP Chairman, Sir John Ngbede as well as serving members of the National Assembly welcomed the decampees into the PDP family, assuring them of equal opportunities.
The State Deputy Governor, Engr Benson Abounu, Senator representing Benue South Senatorial district, Senator Abba Moro and the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Titus Uba also spoke at the event.
