4 million naira bribe and the future of our youths
The giver knows how to bribe to buy souls of our unemployed youths. He makes them feel the meaning of hunger and lures them to mortgage their conscience as consequences of unemployment and zero reward system in today’s politics. The boys are desperate to quench their thirst because they know he never gives without condition attached. That is why they scrambled to steal the 4 million naira bribe.
The giver of the scandalous 4 million naira bribe understands them so he keeps them yawning and thirsty until he wants them on condition to do his bidding before a relief package in exchange for their future. To stop their bond of unity to pursue a common aspiration like other youths at national level, he threw up the money to instigate the end to EndSARS in Uyo. Indeed, he has succeeded like he could succeed in imposing a successor in 2023 in similar manner through another big Yahoo style being proposed to manipulate the youths.
Sad that while other patriotic youths have staked their lives to fight for a better future for upcoming generation and to cause a change of leadership style of today, Akwa Ibom State youths are here fighting over 4 million ‘Yahoo’ money. Dancing nake on social media over poisoned money that has killed their unity to fight against an elite driven government that keeps them disillusioned. It is pathetic.
Borno State has just announced recruitment of over 770 secondary school teachers into the public schools, whereas in a rich state like Akwa Ibom with serious need for teachers (only 30% ratio only presently) is yet to recall 500 sacked teachers to fill the gap of underemployment in schools. This is a situation that has forced many Bsc. Msc. holders to collect 15,000 to 20,000 a month as salaries in private institutions. Imagine!
Well unemployment is alarming and makes our youths vulnerable to inducement to succumb to schemes against their own interest. But why can’t they bear hunger, shun bribe and demand for better governance for once and be liberated from shame?
