Akwa Ibom 2023 governorship race: We will follow Udom Emmanuel’s direction-former AKHA Speaker

The member representing Ibesikpo Asutan State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Aniekan Uko has affirmed to party faithfuls in his Constituency that as 2023 beckons, the Governor, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel remains the leader of the State’s rulling party and that his direction is what will be followed to enhance a smooth transition.
Elder Aniekan Uko dropped the hint while addressing a political convoke of statutory delegates and stakeholders of PDP hosted by the Honourable Commisioner for Finance, Mr. Nsikan Linus Nkan in his country home, Ikot Akpa Edung.
Speaking in clear terms, the former Speaker assured the statutory party delegates that ahead 2023 Governorship race, Udom Emmanuel is the leader of the party and his direction they will all go.
“The governor so far has performed creditably well , so as 2023 which is just around the corner comes, we must follow him as the leader of the party and to the direction he leads “he assures.
The Ibesikpo Asutan jinx breaker charged the party faithfuls to be part of the Udom Emmanuel’s completion agenda by being loyal to the leadership of His Excellency the governor who gave them the opportunity to serve on trust.
IBOROAKAM who spoke amidst cheers from the political gladiators assured them of the Governor’s resolve to make well their welfare while he equally used the opportunity to fete the PDP family for the new year.
Also speaking, the Honorable Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Nsikan Linus Nkan thanked the party men and women for honoring the invitation which he said was to exchange pleasantries after the COVID-19 as well as share in celebrating God’s protection and faithfulness for the new year.
The Akwa Ibom finance boss, used the opportunity to warn the party stakeholders against indulging in oath taking ahead 2023.
“Don’t be cowed into mbiam politics because 2023 just as my House member has said, the Governor who is the leader of the party will show direction and we will follow.
Mr. Nkan while equally feting the stakeholders assured them of golden welfare reward from the Governor soon.
For the former House of Representative member from the area, Akwa Obong Unwana Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Obot, Ibesikpo Asutan is for Udom where he leads they will all follow.
Emmanuel Obot charge the party stakeholders not to be carried away be enticing sentiment, but rather cue behind the realistic leader of the party who is the Governor for a result oriented 2023.
Elder Ubong Obot in his goodwill message advised the people to stick to a wise man ahead 2023.
“Nothing as bad as following someone who is not wise because at the end its a journey to no where.
For 2023, we have seen in Udom a man who can lead the state to a better choice, so our duty is to follow his direction and achieve the required result” he maintained.
The Political Leader Prince Uwem Ita Etuk in his submission thanked the Commissioner for the meeting and urged the party stakeholders not to be moved by detractors who are hunting for succession, but rather remained steadfast and welcome the Governor’s promises to the party which will commence soonest.
For the Executive Chairman of Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Council, Hon. (Mrs.) Akon Michael, the party remains supreme, so no amount of distraction will make people not to follow where the leader of the party leads in 2023.
On her part, the seasoned council boss assured the party of regular interface in a no distant time to confirm to her campaign promise of regular interface with the party.
Giving a vote of thanks, the Chapter Chairman of the party, Pastor Uwem Etim thanked the Honourable Commissioner and other major stakeholders for hosting the party and assured of the party’s resolve in following the chosen direction in 2023.
The meeting was well attended with former Chairmen of Council, Former Council Chairmen, Former Leaders of the Legislature, Former State Officers of the party and other stakeholders like the two-time House of Assembly member in the then Cross River State Rt. Hon. (Obong) T. O Akpan, immediate past Chairman of Ibesikpo Asutan LGA. Rt. Hon. Sylvester George, Hon. Etetim Ubom, former House of Assembly member, Rt. Hon. Eyakeno Etukudo, the State Officer of the party Lady Emem Otonsek, SA to the Governor on ICT Mr. Solomon Eyo, the Council Vice Chairman Evangelist Edidiong Inyang, Councillors, the Council Secretary Mr. Emem Akpan among others.
